Autumn Splendor

That bit of snow overnight took down a lot of the fall foliage. The scene was enhance by a delicate sunrise. This landscape sketch was painted on paper with thin oil turpentine, kind of like a watercolor. A white nupastel stick is perfect for indicating a bit of snow.

FALL HUES OUTSIDE MY STUDIO

Another morning of trying to capture the light & atmosphere. I want to emphasis the contrast between the yellow foliage against the dark silhouette of the meadow.

NATURE

By being outdoor, that's where I get the stimulation and the fun of the unexpected. Nature does not come to your studio, you have to go to her... in my case, nature is right outside my window.
