It's open studio time! It seems there's a different art tour happening every weekend. I wonder if artists will out number farmers eventually, in my area. This gallery at Rosemary Farm is most interesting. You just have to look out the window & see the artist's inspirations. This horse sanctuary is started by one little artist, she's doing some amazing things!Inspirations and sketches from my studio in the Catskill Mountain. The solitude of my Artist Retreat compels me to keep exploring, seeing, experimenting, and painting all the picturesque quality outside my window.

Horse Sanctuary
My training in illustration gives me the skill to paint anything in a realistic way, in the comfort of my studio.
I also enjoy my detours into artistic investigation with landscapes. With each canvas, one sought to capture one glorious inspirational moment.![]() |

My horse reference came from my visits to ROSEMARY FARM, a local horse sanctuary that's in my backyard.
The best part of photoshop is that I can combine my fine art onto my illustrations. I can create as many new designs as I want from a few vignettes. Click HERE, to see more equestrian designs from one painted horse.Monday, May 26, 2014

EQUESTRIAN
When my rep request for horse designs, I know better than to ignore it. Definately need to spend more time working on equestrian designs. The snowy background came from an old winter sketch. The xmas tree came from another sketchbook.

CHALLENGE
I've been painting forever in various styles & endless different subjects. Painting horses seem to be a subject I avoided. Lots of horse farms near me, so I have no excuse. This sketch is from a reference photo. Trying to understand the shape of a horse has been harder than painting an impressionistic landscape out my window. One should not get too comfortable, I guess this justify spending so much time on this one sketch.
