different artist influenced me in different ways...for my nocturnes, artist like Piero della Francesca, Camille Carot, George Inness, & Whistler, of course...I'm always studying their use of pictorial space & color sensibilities...

WINTER BIRDS

it might be cold & frightful outside, but watching the birds at the bird feeder warms up the winter days...

SNOWY NOCTURNE

after a week of snow showers, my painter's eye is really glad to catch some colors outside my window..

FROSTY PASTEL

pastel is my prefer medium for the soft air of Spring, but pastel with color pencil seem to work perfectly for this frosty morning sketch...the process of finding the tools that will lead to a personal vision is part of the fun....

NYC-the village

one of the great thing about a city is not needing a car to get around...but it sure comes in handy to be sketching in my car on a wet & brisk day...
