MOON SET, 5 am

This might be the last time to wake up & see the full moon sets over lingering white snow, over the western horizon, at 5am. It's a lovely sight, bit it's hard to be inspire with snow, by April!

SUPERMOON 2016

Dont forget to look up at the moon tonight. The last time we had a super moon was 67 years ago. Due to optical illusion, the moon appears gigantic at moon rise & moon set.

MOURNING FULL MOON

Last week's full moon, known as the mourning moon appeared in all its spherical glory. It's the last full moon before Winter Solstice. It's pure magic to be able to catch the moon sets before 7AM on the western horizon. At the same time, the sun rises from the east, on the other side of my studio. The sky was very clear, so I was able to capture both the sunrise & moon set.

FULL MOON

5PM, full moon rising from the East…reflection on the lingering snow makes the whole landscape really bright outside my window!

MAGICAL

It does not happen that often, full moon shining over snowy landscape. Reason enough to play with my various blue pigments. Finding the right color relationship can translate into a magical tonal landscape painting.
