Painting Summer Morning

Making the most of a summer morning. Dreamy pink fog does not last that long. Watercolor is a fast way to express the ethereal mist softening the morning light.

To define the greenery in the foreground, I use pastel pencil on top of the watercolor.

From Summer to Mermaid

Mysterious nature of inspiration with a dose of mindfulness! Been working on a Summer Collection with seaside cottage, sky & water.

Thought I should include some nautical elements from the beach. Tossed around some seashells onto a layer of blue texture watercolor.

The right side of this border seem to be a little off balance...
The idea of adding a mermaid to the border came to me while I was biking. I have to dash back to my studio before my inspiration swims off!

PAINTING MORNING FOG

Summer fog makes my mornings quite interesting, from my window. The tittle saids it all. The pink comes straight from the tube. No need to waste time mixing paints.

SUMMER MORNING

Typical summer morning. A workout for my eyes.

Always something new to discover thru my window. Another up-close & intimate study after nature.

I have a lot of papers that are toned. This definitely speed up the sketching process. My window of opportunity is about half an hour before the fog gets burn off by the rising sun.

BROOKWOOD GARDEN, COOPERSTOWN

After a rather busy Labor Day Weekend. It's nice to be able to spend some quiet time in a lovely garden by the lake in Cooperstown. Brookwood Garden is a lovely Italianite Renaissane garden on Lake Otsego, New York.

POPPY SEASON

one subject, many inspiration
The poppy in my garden tend to self seed. Dazzling & carefree, it's always a surprise to see what & where the poppies will show up. These enchanting blossoms only last a few short days. But it last long enough for me to make some hand painted card to add to my collection on ETSY. Spend a few dollars to make someone's day!
